ABOUT IBEX ENGLAND
In 1957 Ibex was founded in Spratton, Northamptonshire, the heart of England’s leather tanning and shoe industry-the choice of this location was no accident. Initially, Ibex manufactured components for the local shoe industry. Building then on an inherent knowledge of leather, flourishing design skills and local talent, Ibex went on to develop its own range of leather belts. At the beginning of the fashion boom in the ’60s Ibex had become a recognised belt brand with an international appeal.
As the brand flourished the company rapidly expanded and was granted the Queen’s Award in 1972. By the late ’80s Ibex consolidated its operations into one large production unit in Brixworth, Northamptonshire. The company was still operating from this facility when Oxford Leathercraft acquired them in 2014. The Ibex brand is integral to our portfolio and we are committed to upholding its core values: Resilience, agility and quality.
