It’s shooting season! Whether you’re attending your first shoot or want to update your wardrobe, here is our handy guide to finding the best shooting clothing so you’re comfortable and confident during your next shoot.
Formal shoots
In the UK there are larger more formal shoots that require traditional clothing and smaller ‘rough scale’ shoots which are less formal. For more formal shooting clothing, it’s customary to wear a three-piece tweed suit, with a waterproof tweed coat or a tweed blazer, a tweed shooting waistcoat and breeks or trousers and shooting socks.
Less formal shoots
For less formal shooting clothing, tweed is still an option but is often styled more casually, rather than as a full tweed suit with a shirt and tie. Some might opt for just a shooting jacket, gilet, and a waistcoat or fleece, particularly on unusually warm days. Moleskin trousers or cotton breeks are also perfectly acceptable choices.
